A Day in the Life with Alex James Ali

This month, we’re stepping behind the chair with friend of YLW and incredible hairstylist, Alex (@alexjamesali). From early starts in the salon to finding time to reset, Alex shares the small habits and rituals that keep him feeling well - plus how he weaves YLW into his busy routine.

Keep reading for a dose of inspiration and a glimpse into a day in his life...

6:00am - Rise and Reset

Alex starts his mornings with movement, easing into the day with a stretch routine to support his back. Alongside a pint of water and a strong black coffee, it’s his way of waking up both body and mind.

7:00am - Family First

Breakfast is all about time with his little one - pancakes are a regular favourite. While his son eats, Alex takes a moment for himself: a refreshing shower, skincare with the YLW Day Cream, and a quick brush-up before the school run.

8:45am - School Run

Alex heads out the door to drop his son at school, ready to shift gears into work mode.

9:00am - Train Time

The commute offers a pocket of calm before a busy day in the salon.

9:45am - Salon Ready

Once in the salon, it’s all about getting set for a full day on his feet. A quick refresh with the YLW Day Cream keeps skin hydrated, and the Day Pill gives him the inner support he needs to stay energised and focused.

7:30pm - Gym Reset

After work, Alex carves out time for himself at the gym. A mix of weights, light cardio, and occasionally the spa helps him unwind and reset, both physically and mentally.

9:30pm - Evening Wind Down

Back home, Alex opts for a light meal if he needs it, then leans into his evening routine: applying the YLW Night Cream to nourish skin overnight and taking the Night Pill to support deep rest and recovery.

10:30pm - Lights Out

By half ten, it’s time to switch off. A full day done, Alex prioritises sleep so he’s ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Alex’s routine is a reminder that wellbeing doesn’t have to mean big changes - it’s the small, consistent habits, woven into everyday life, that make the real difference.
